So this morning I was heading out to my truck to go to read at Niota for read across America day. I was searching for my truck key on my slightly overly large key chain. I couldn't find it. Not because I wasn't looking hard enough, but because it wasn't there.
It fell off my key chain last night as I was getting in Mom's car to go to the Regional Championship game.
I looked everywhere I could think of. In my room. In my truck. I even called my mom to see if it had fallen off in her car.
So I grabbed the extra key so that I could leave and not be late to where I was going.
I get home and look some more. I ask Dad if he'd seen it. He starts looking and the first place he looked, there they were. Right on the ground outside of where I had gotten into the car.
So the lesson in this, I think, is that Satan will try to ruin your day in the little things.
The cereal running out when you are trying to eat breakfast. The hot water running out before you finish your shower. Your keys not being where they are supposed to be.
Don't let Satan get under your skin for the little things.
