Poetry?

This is just a little something that I was writing earlier when I was feeling very lonely and kinda scared.


Dear God,


I wish someday for a love, a husband.


I hope for someone that I can serve you better with than by myself.


I want someone who will love me for me.


I want a life to live and a family to live it with.


I hope for someone who can protect me and provide for me.


I wish for someone who shares my faith and my values.


But while I wait, I will follow You to whatever You have planned.


While I wait, I will be patient on Your timing.


While I wait, I will grow closer to You and come to love You more.


While I wait, I will make myself better for him. I will become the wife he needs and deserves.


In all this, I will wait for You and Your timing.


All my heart, soul, and love,

Waiting- Acts 1:1-14

We wait for so many things in this life. We wait for birthdays, Christmas, driver's licenses, high school graduation, college graduation, marriage, kids, retirement. As Christians, there is another very important event that we hope and wait for: The return of Christ Jesus our Lord.  One part of Scripture that tells us about His return is Acts 1 (we will focus on verses 1-14). Verse 11 specifically tells us that Jesus will return in the same way He left.  Acts 1:10-11 - "And while they were gazing into heaven as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white robes, and said, 'Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? Faith- Hebrews 11 Part 1

It's been a little while, but I got the idea to go through chapter 11 of Hebrews and go a bit in depth on each verse and person mentioned in the chapter. And so because I have some free time for summer I thought I would start. I'm not sure how long it will take or how in depth I may go on different days but I'm going to start.  So here we go... Chapter 11 verse 1 says, "Now faith is the reality of what is hoped for, the proof of what is not seen." (HCSB).  Another translation says, "Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen." (ESV). The King James Version says, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Each of these versions uses different words. The English Standard Version uses a word that I wasn't quite sure of the definition so I decided to look it up. Conviction is a sense of guilt and shame leading to repentance. Thanksgiving

So I know that thanksgiving is the topic of the season. Everyone is writing about it. And I haven't written in a while, but that's just it. Thanksgiving is such a big thing, not only because the world makes a big deal about it, but also because GOD makes a big deal about it. We are to bring thanksgiving always to the feet of God. Over and over in His Word, it shows us that we must bring thanksgiving. Psalm 100 says this: "Make a joyful shout to the LORD, all you lands! Serve the LORD with gladness; Come before His presence with singing. Know that the LORD, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.
